COCHLEAR AG support – 7 audiology machines

For so many living in Ukraine, rocket shelling and explosions has become a feature of life, and for too many it has become deafening. With immense gratitude I thank Cochlear AG for helping Ambulance Relief to deliver another 7 audiology machines to Ukraine this summer.

Hearing loss has to be among the vast ‘unseen’ injuries to adults and children across the country. In some cases caused directly by the relentless missile attacks on the population. In other cases by the inability to access audiology care while Ukraine’s healthcare system is under war strain. Anyone who lives with hearing loss knows that even mild loss is not a mild problem. Also, the sooner damage is diagnosed, the sooner the chance of receiving the right treatment path.

So my thanks therefore to Cochlear AG for their kind donation which enabled the provision of these audiology machines to Ukraine, and also to Dr Jeannie Wallace at Amplivox for the generous discount given for this humanitarian aid and for expediting their delivery to me.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to meet with a room full of Cochlear Basel staff where personal messages were written inside each audiology box before we sealed them and they left quickly for Ukraine. Our timings that day were tight – but we did it!  All 7x machines have now been delivered to clinics in Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv and Odesa, sharing this vital support throughout the country.

On behalf of Ambulance Relief, my deepest thanks to Cochlear AG. Your help is enabling audiology teams to provide vital and enduring support across Ukraine’s healthcare infrastructure. Immeasurable kindness. My lifelong thanks to volunteers Taras Patlatiuk and Yevhen Kalenda, and countless others, for all our communications to safely deliver this medical aid into your beloved Ukraine.
