In November 2023, ten packs of disposable adult nappies ordered by Ambulance Relief reached this swimming pool inside Kyiv. This donation is for injured, in some cases amputees, who need them in order to exercise in the water with dignity and discretion – as part of their long and arduous personal journey towards rehabilitation. They have lost so much in this cruel war.
Tireless Ukrainian volunteer in Basel, Nina Basharova, first shared this specific need.
Wonderful donors to Ambulance Relief made it possible to order the diapers quickly.
Daniel Sandford kindly received the packages in Poland and his humanitarian aid organisation, Transport A Sister, drove them into Ukraine. Once inside Ukraine, with thanks to Nova Poshta Humanitarian, they safely reached Olesia Petruk in Kyiv.
A small example of the remarkable goodwill connecting volunteers across thousands of miles ❤️
